Don’t know about you, but everyone we know is on Groupon these days, receiving the daily deals via email and printing out the coupons. We recently heard a story about a local restaurant close to our office who had over 180 folks show up with their Groupon coupon in hand. Apparently the owner asked them if they came just because of Groupon and the majority said yes and that in fact they hadn’t even heard of the restaurant before. Further, some 100 of them said they planned to come back.

No wonder everyone want to be on Groupon. It and its imitators have the potential of changing the face of marketing for small businesses.

It’s so popular that now some of the big boys like Walmart want to play and are promoting their own versions of Groupon, as talked about in this article on Ad Age.
